My Life 15 Years From Today
In 15 years, I will hopefully be married, have 2 children, preferably a boy and a girl, and no pets. I will still have strong relationships with my new family as well as my old family.
|
In the future, I will pursue optometry at the University of Waterloo and hopefully get a bachelor degree in science and a masters degree in optometry. I might team up with someone more experienced and share their office at first but I eventually want to be the head of my own office.
|
My leisure activities are fairly similar to my leisure activities right now, like going to the theater, watching T.V., and shopping. However, when I get older and have more money, I will be able to travel the world and visit places I have always wanted to go. Europe, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Australia are some of the places I want to visit. I enjoy going to meet with friends at a nearby cafe and strolls in the park. I also walk Sommer's cat around the neighbourhood.

In 15 years, I will have accomplished the things that most people do at some point in their lives. My first accomplishment will hopefully be getting a phone in the next few years. By the end of high school, I hope to win at least one medal in WCSSAA or CWOSSA in any sport. I want my own car before I graduate university, but that's not likely so I will probably get a car after I graduate. Finally, I will buy a nice, hopefully big, house.

During my life, my biggest challenges will be similar to others. For about 10 more years, I will be struggling with academics and exams throughout my educational experience. After I've overcome the challenge of passing university, I will have to deal with student debt and the pressure to pay my loans and my parents back since school costs a lot of money. Since I will be in relationships with people and also family relationships, there will be some disagreement and arguing I have to overcome. For most of my life and as well as others, I will have stress and at times, a lot of it.
Job Shadowing Report (Bramante Studio)
1. Timetable of the Day's Events
8:30-9:30: Embroidering a Hanging (Large sheets of fabric which are hung in churches)
9:30-10:30: Embroidering a Hanging
10:30-11:30: Embroidering a Hanging
11:30-12:30: Embroidering a Hanging/Appliques
12:30-1:00: Lunch/Break
1:00-1:30: Appliques (Gluing)
1:30-2:30: Appliques (Gluing)
2:30-3:30: Appliques (Cutting/Gluing)
3:30-4:30: Sewing
2. I liked how friendly everyone was and welcoming. Almost everyone has known me for a long time and I had plenty of options if I wanted to help out. Her boss (Emily) keeps me busy so I don’t get bored and it was overall just a great environment to be in. I disliked how short the lunch was since I was so used to having an hour of lunch at school and I felt rushed but other than that, it was a very enjoyable experience.
3. In my opinion, the day went very well and I don’t think anything could’ve been improved. I’ve been to this company since I was a baby and there have been very few, new employees.
4. I learned that this job is harder than it seems and I even got to try out some the more simple aspects of the job. I cut fabrics for my mom to applique onto the hanging. I also learned that everyone here is basically like a family. They all know each other well, and a lot goes on in the same building. There’s the upstairs where most of the hands on work is done, and the downstairs where the technical office kind of work is done. There are a lot of parts that make up a business, even a small one like Bramante. I also realized that having a job takes a lot of responsibility because you can’t slack off, there are deadlines you must meet or things that need to be done. And unlike school, you can’t bring anything home so productivity is important. However, you need some of the same skills you learn in school in order to succeed in your job. Getting there on time is the first step, but in school you also learn how to be organized, take initiative, be responsible, be cooperative, and be respectful. In school, these are called learning skills but in a job, they are part of an average work day.
